SHELTER

Most houses are made out of sunbathed mud and usually built on the street most of the the rooms were decorated with mosaics. Houses at that time were built to stand in cold and hot whether ,which is odd because in hot sun mud would usually get melted .There courtyard was aligned with the sun in winter and other cold times. They had roofs over there balconies so the sun wouldn't overheat the upper rooms. There was a room under the balconies called the portico used to shade the people in that room. The balcony above the courtyard was used to dry clothes .In the middle of the courtyard there was a room that the family could go to make private sacrifices to the gods to ask for prosparity ,good health andand safty in wartime. The courtyard had high walls for privacy.
